The Pre-Retirement Planning workshop provides pertinent information and insight into financial and non-financial issues related to retirement from the Public Service of Canada. Participants study the resources they need and the options involved in planning their financial security while maintaining their lifestyle and preparing for their next phase of life. Topics include:
- Lifestyle planning
- Psychological aspects of retirement
- Health, nutrition and fitness
- Cost of life in retirement
- Public Service Superannuation Plan – pension plan
- Income security programs (CPP, GIS, OAS
- Financial planning:
- Day to day management of money (debt management and savings strategies)
- RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs and annuities
- Tax planning
- Investment planning
- Insurance planning
- Estate planning

An overriding objective of this program, beyond what is outlined above, is to support participants in answering the question “Will I have enough in retirement?”.
